Oh wow, I'm so sorry to hear. Even though it's an ex, you still have a bond with that person, because of your relationship and the relationship with your kids. Of course it's hard to think of any kid losing their father. I wish the best for the family.

Is there anywhere else you could channel your stresses? Gym? Time with the kids? Talking things out with friends/other family? Especially since you know that this is an emotional time, anything you can do to curb your appetite will help a lot, and there are a ton of tips in the weight loss forum. This process with your ex could be prolonged for a while, so you should try to get things under control before things go on too long. Remember, you're going to be all that your kids have left as far as natural parents go. Maybe you can use that as motivation to be healthy going forward, so you can be there for them a long time.
