| First post I guess I will start by saying hello. I have been struggling with my weight since high school and I have been off and on diets for several years. I was doing very well with weight loss about 4 years ago and I got down to about 270 from 335 but I was diagnosed with cancer. I went through 4 rounds and chemo and a couple of surgeries and it left me with a very weak body and I stopped exercising. Since that point my weight had climbed up to 375.
Just like everyone I made a new years resolution to lose weight and get into shape. The big thing that motivated me this year was a pool I got into at work to lose 10% of our body weight. 6 of us all put $100 in and the first 3 to make it win a share of the winnings. We added a clause that you must keep the weight off for 6 months after you loose it. Well I plan to go much further.
The diet I am following so far is mainly weight watchers based. I have completely stopped drinking soda and I drink atleast 3 liters of water a day. I am also avoiding simple carbs and trying to stick to whole grains. I also joined 24 hour fitness and do at least 2.5-3 miles on the tread mill 5 days a week. I will try and keep my progress updated on the forums.
