Re: Does anyone use Resistance Bands?

True, the bands are better than nothing... but, if you want to really get rid of the 'bat wings' under your arms I'd suggest a program of more intense muscle building and cardio.

The bands unless they're really strong are more of an isolation rather than a compound movement. Compound movements mean basic weight resistance exercises like chest and leg presses (squats) which call upon you to use many different muscles. This builds the muscle foundation which you need, otherwise isolation exercises which are meant to give definition to muscle aren't really defining anything. If you belong to a gym there are plenty of machines and free weights that will provide you with what you need. You need to do hard sets that really tax you. Plus, there's always the extra benefit that once you've built muscle, you're going to burn more calories all the time.

Now as far as cardio, you need to do something that moves the entire body over an extended period of time (30 minutes or more) - walking (but fast walking) eventually graduating to jogging if possible. Plus as I'm sure you know there are other alternatives like eliptical machines, stationary bikes etc. I just don't prefer them myself.

Good Luck.
