I would have to disagree with this one. The key is keeping your heart rate up at a high level over a long period of time (think 20 minutes or more). Situps won't do that for you. Situps might get your heart rate pumping for a minute or so, but that's not going to do nearly as much good as longer intervals of cardiovascular exercise....and even better is if you can incorporate interval training....
