For weight loss, in theory, it physically doesn't make too much a difference, because what really does matter at the end of the day is how many calories you consume....I personally am not quite 100% sold on the drastic difference in metabolism changes from 3 to 6 meals for non-athletes.

Now, for some, if eating 6 smaller meals a day makes your body feel like it's eating more food (even though it's not consuming any more calories), then that would be a better option. I would recommend eating 5-6 smaller meals if you can fit it into your schedule however, as there are some other benefits to do so.
