Another thing you may want to try is when you are eating with the family, is to slow down as you eat. Chew each bite 20 times, and don't rush. You'll give your brain more time to catch up and realize how full you are so it can tell your body you're full before you've overeaten. If you keep the calories consumed down you'll mitigate the damage from eating not so healthy things.
If you really want to be picky, could you bring your own food to these family events or request something different? It's hard, but it's something I've done in the past and has worked out well for me and others here....especially to BBQs, etc. |
