Thought I'd post a little update about my mom.

She finally began her healthier lifestyle this Monday. My Dad and I had been nagging her about it for a while. She said she just needed a little push to get going.

She's been heading to the gym early in the morning to do some cardio and a bit of weight training, twice a week, does yoga another day, and then her deep water workout twice a week.

She says the counting calories has really been helping her. Since she's had chemo, she says she doesn't really have an appetite anymore, she just tends to eat out of habit, and when she started keeping track of everything, she realized she was snacking a whole lot throughout the day out of habit! She's been shooting for 1250 to 1300 calories per day.

I talked to her yesterday night and she says she's already noticed a couple of lbs difference on the scale. Unfortunetly she's got a bridge tournament this weekend, so she'll be out of the city, and eating out all weekend. She says she'll try to make healthy choices, which should be a whole lot easier now that she's more familiar with how many calories certain foods have.

I'm so excited for her!
