You're not doomed. I'm a firm believer in if you put your mind to something you'll accomplish it.
It sounds like diets don't work you for (just like the don't work for me, and don't work for a whole lot of people). I'm not on a diet, I made a change of lifestyle.
I started looking for foods that are healthy for me, but that I still enjoy eating, and man, I found tons! I never realized how much I like veggies. I still get cravings for stuff that is bad for me, and I still eat them, but now it's become occasionally, instead of once a week, once a day etc.
What are your eating habits like right now? It's really hard to change everything all at once, so maybe you'll want to pick certain things to focus on, and make the changes slowly.
