Re: Would you ever date someone who was obese?

I have no issues with other people's weight. In fact there are two girls I've been crushing on a little bit who are both at least my size. My biggest crush in high school was definitely obese. It's not my 'thing', in fact I honestly don't think I have a physically 'type' - no two girlfriends I've had have looked at all like one another. My measure of beauty has always been based on a person's strength of character and the way I feel when I'm around them. It goes the other way, too - the most physically beautiful woman I know is so interminably boring I don't think I could contemplate ever spending an amount of time with her that extended beyond one conversation at a time. But when you eliminate a type of person from the running because of how they look, or how you think other people will judge you by being with them, you're severely limiting your potential for companionship.
I have been the guy in a relationship with women far more attractive than me where their friends say "what the hell is she doing with that guy?". And these are adults we're talking about, not teenagers. In the unlikely scenario that one day I'd be in a relationship where the roles were reversed, I'd have to question my association with any friends who made similar comments.
While I didn't think it was especially funny that movie 'Shallow Hal' had a decent (if a little obvious) message.
