Yep, we are so loving this cookbook, which isn't just a diet/cookbook, there are whole sections of medical information I never knew. This doctor and his nutritionist wife take turns writing chapters, and they're often funny.

And yes, they use Splenda mostly (baking, cooking), & aspartame in yogurt, cappuccino, etc. My own doctor recommended splenda almost a year ago, so that's one of my pet subjects. Here's the FDA page on artificial sweeteners:
Artificial Sweeteners: No Calories ... Sweet!

Scroll way down to sucralose. Btw Splenda is only 1% sucralose which is FDA-approved too. And the doctor who wrote this is with the dept of Health, so I feel as if I've found the holy grail with this book.

My fave recipe in it so far is Chocolate Mousse, 100 calories per serving. Gee, what you can do with egg whites!

Take good care of you

P.S. I'm holding the book in my hand now. Starting on p. 27, there are sections on "Fructose, the New Danger," "What are Sugar Alcohols?" and "Sugar Alcohols vs. Artificial sweeteners." Fascinating!

Hmm, that sounds like it may be an interesting read as well as full of great recipies I checked for it on Chapters.ca, but they don't have it, but I can order it over Amazon.

My book said it was out for delivery today, so I'm hoping it will be there when I get home from school today. Yay!
