Kootch--great start...I hope you can stick to it. If it helps...I find that if I can't eat the foods I love (at all), I feel so deprived.

I am not following such a strict regimen of meals. I simply cut my intake in half, cut out sugar, drank more water, and exercised (which I haven't done in years). I am making slow (a pound a week) progress, but feel very good about how things are going. I've developed healthy eating habits this way.

I am also taking supplements (esp calcium) to stay healthy, since I'm not used to the exercise regimen.
