Your husband has to eat a lot of fat because of a stomach disorder ? I don't think I've ever heard of that. Just curious, what exactly is his disorder?

Since you're doing the cooking it's not like you don't have control over the food being put in front of you.

Most important is calorie reduction, so things like drinking a lot of water and chewing your food very slowly (think 20 chews per bite and not rushing through dinner) with both help curb your appetite overall.

I don't know if you are the one doing the shopping, but if you are, then you really have control as to what food is in the house. Just because your boys are pre-teens doesn't mean they cannot eat healthier too!

Some people use motivational tools like putting photos of how they looked at their worst and best on the fridge, others put a scale next to the fridge as motivation.

Lastly, some people work well when having a written plan of what to eat ahead of time.

Welcome to the site by the way!
