I sleep very little. I have sleep apnea but do not have a working machine to use at night. I was without any insurance for 2 years and finally recieved SSD and had to wait another year for the medical to kick in. Now its been an additional year trying to get through the red tape of the HMO doctor I am using. They just are not doing what needed to be done to push a referral through.

I do finally have an appointment to one of their pulmo doctors that will approve me for a new sleep study or not.

I have an adjustable bed and put the head of the bed up which helped in the beginning. The last year however I can stay in bed and sleep about 1 to 2 hours and then am awake and unable to go back to sleep. I usally get up and sit in my recliner and maybe go back to sleep around 4 am for an hour.

This can go on for a week sometimes two and then my body sorta shuts down and I nap almost all day. I say nap because its very short periods of sleep then awake for a few min then asleep again. On those days I have slept through the phone ringing at my elbow and feel drugged.

I have indeed gained a lot more weight since I have been sleeping this way. I hope my doctors get it together. I really really hate the Cpap machine though and am Soooo hoping I can find a way to drop a hundred pounds at least.
