It has been hard to stay on a diet when I gain anyway, just slower. I'm on many medications that effect my weight and I just feel tired of fighting to get back to my pre 40 year old weight.

Er, sorry this is so whiny.

Welcome to the site Mickie! You aren't being whiny at all, and besides, we're here for you to vent!

We tend to encourage people not to "diet" because dieting is only meant to be a short term solution. At the end of the day it's making a lifestyle change that will help you achieve your long term goals.

If your are "dieting" and still gaining, then maybe your eating habits could still use a little tweaking. I'd love to hear more about what you eat on a daily basis, as my guess is that is the root cause of your weight gain that you are experiencing, although I know the medication probably isn't helping. I am curious, are there other medications you can switch to that yield the same results without the negative consequences of weight gain?
