Re: You know what I hate?

There's a ton of generalisms on your and the other parties part.

Here's my little view:
I coach Jr. High Wrestling, I started coaching as an obese man and quickly figured out that I couldn't do a good job at that weight for the kids. I was also leading by example with bad nutrition, bad habits and would die a pre-mature death. I changed my lifestyle and my families to make sure that we're healthy and learn to eat correctly. I have them evaluate what they're eating and what's missing from their diet (always protein) at most meals. Luckily my 2 younger children are pre-disposed to being athletic and thin, my oldest will have to fight obesity his whole life and I've warned him of this as we go on. The kids I coach that are obese have parents that are obese (generalism), when told that the kids have to go home and exercise some laugh at me. 2 hours a week is not enough time to make their kids into conditioned studs but that's the parents expectations. These kids cry when they run, cry when they do pushups and cry when pushed hard to wrestle multiple matches. Most drop out over the course of the season as their parents think it's too much work to bring them to practice. These thought processes and bad habits are being passed from generation to generation now as it's much easier to not learn how to cook but to just buy pre-made food from fast food joints or frozen food. These pre-made meals are terrible in all nutrition (even the salads) and don't offer nearly enough protein for a growing body to build muscle when they do start learning to exercise.
I could have begun to generalize that fat people are stupid and lazy due to what I've seen, however as a fat person I know I am neither. People make snap judgements based on bad assumptions due to a generic set of circumstances, that's all I know. Calling all skinny people good or bad or all fat people unhealthy is a bad generalism that is all.
