As for new ideas...you might want to try sliced zucchini and onions, simmered in olive oil, at home. Quite tasty. And I understand sweet potatoes are a real treat--and provide lots of good nutrients. I used to hate asparagus when I was growing up, but now it's for very special occasions. My husband LOVES beets....I must confess, I still can't stand them. Oh, and tomatoes--I know they're actually a fruit--but we grow them, and I can't get enough of them.
PLUS, one of my main calorie fighting tricks...I always make a salad to go with our take-out pizza. I slowly eat one slice of deep dish pizza while eating salad on the side, and I'm full after one piece. I'm so proud of this HUGE change in my behavior. Now I find that if I have pizza anytime, I have to have salad with it--they seem to go together so well. | That salad trick is so great, thanks!
