Boost Fiber Lower Fat

Source: Prevention; Mar2006, Vol. 58 Issue 3, p70-70, 1/4p

When you check out food labels, keep your eye on two numbers for the biggest weight loss payoff, say Tufts University researchers. They measured the amount of fat and fiber that 824 women ate daily and found that the risk of being overweight or obese was up to 13 times higher in women getting less than 13 g of fiber per day and more than 35% of calories as fat, compared with those who ate more fiber and less fat. Recommended Get 22 to 28 g of fiber per day; only 8% of the women in this study reached that level.
