Some of the tings I am not fond of with Atkins is all the greasy food he suggests..like bacon and butter for a couple of examples. I just cannot eat those things anymore and I don't eat dairy because it causes me to have sinus congestion problems.
I also miss fruit and would like to eat way more then the allowed 3 cups of veggies. I never got fat eating veggies. In fact when I was on a diet with several servings of veggies and little fat I lost more weight in one month then I ever did on 5 months of Atkins.
I'm currently considering just making up my own plan...something that *I* can live with for the rest of my life centred around the foods I prefer to eat with a treat once in a while. Like a peice...ONE PEICE...of apple pie once a month...or a scoop of ice cream once a month. I figure a treat once a month will be enough for me and keep me on plan so I don't feel deprived.

I hear you on the exercise. This past week I just got finished changing my bedroom around so I now have the space to put in a small area carpet to make up my own little exercise area. I'm also going to get 5 pounds weights to start some upper body exercises and going to start walking.
I also just bought a walking dvd (Leslie Sansone) to do in the livingroom when the days are bad weather days. The dvd has a one mile walk and a 2 mile walk on it.

I love your posts Mike. I've been reading them with great interest.
Good progress with getting an exercise program for yourself! Regarding Atkins, they do offer quite a bit of non-greasy non-dairy foods in addition to the greasy items. If you check our recipe section I'm sure you'll find quite a few that meet your needs. I'm all for eating veggies in large quantities but am a little leary of eating too much fruit due to the sugar in fruits. Moderation is key.
